A few final thoughts on therapist directories:

  • Here is how to take a good headshot for your profile.

  • Sign up for free directories. It can’t hurt.

  • Track referrals from directories in a spreadsheet on a monthly basis so you can measure return on investment (ROI) over time. Cancel subscriptions that aren’t converting.

  • Prioritize directories that reach your ideal client or niche.

  • Therapist matching sites (e.g. Mental Health Match) are generally more effective than directories because they give you higher-quality referrals. More here.
