Value-based pricing

As a therapist, you’re used to selling your time for an hourly rate.

But what if I told you there was another way?

If you’re interested in leveraging your expertise as a mental health consultant, consider a value-based pricing structure.

I used to think value-based pricing was about my value and how much I’m worth. What I’ve come to understand is that value-based pricing is about how much value I can provide to the client.

It’s not about me. It’s about them.

So how much can you charge? It depends on a few factors.

  1. What would it cost the company to hire someone full-time to deliver the same result/outcome?

  2. Is their investment in you going to make them money? If so, how much?

  3. Is their investment in you going to save them money? If so, how much?

The market will tell you how much you can charge. If people aren’t pushing back on your price, then you’re probably not charging enough.
