Use the first person in your marketing

I’ve written about speaking directly to your audience and using “you” statements instead of “I” statements.

But when you do refer to yourself on your website or directory profiles, use the first person.

If you use the third person, it sounds like someone else is speaking about you, which is less personal and kind of awkward.

The obvious exception here is if you operate a group practice, in which case it doesn’t make sense to use “I” statements.

But if it’s just you, don’t refer to yourself in the third person. You wouldn’t do that IRL, would you?
