How to create an online course

An online course can be a great way to supplement your income as a therapist.

Kerry Lusignan, LMHC, offers a course for couples called Crisis 2 Connected

How do you create one of your own?

First, you’ll need to decide on a topic. What are you uniquely qualified to teach about? Do you have particular expertise to share? This can be related to your niche.

You’ll need to decide how to deliver it. Do you want to offer a live course? If so, Zoom is a great option.

If you’d rather offer an on demand course, then platforms like Kajabi and Thinkific make it easy. You can make slides in Canva and record videos in Loom.

Personally, I prefer hybrid courses with on demand videos and live discussion sessions.

You’ll need to decide how to price it. There’s no rule here, but generally what I’ve seen is $100 to $200 per hour of content.

I’ve also seen high-ticket courses cost $10,000. Ultimately, the amount you can charge depends on the value you can provide.

Finally, you’ll need to market it. Free webinars are a great way to generate interest in your offering. Having an owned audience helps, too.
