Calendly isn’t HIPAA-compliant

Calendly is a great online scheduling tool. I use it for my own business.

But it’s not HIPAA-compliant. Their data isn’t encrypted, so if they were to be hacked, the personal health information (PHI) of your clients wouldn't be protected.

They also don’t provide a Business Associate Agreement (BAA), which HIPAA regulations require from every third-party service provider exposed to PHI.

If you want to give people the ability to securely self-schedule a free consultation call or intake session, I recommend using a service like Zencare (or First Session if you’re in Canada). Cal.com is another option that provides a BAA.

This is a great free resource if you need a refresher on HIPAA compliance.
