The fuel and engine marketing model for therapists

I listened to a great podcast interview recently with Emily Kramer, who does marketing for tech companies.

While she doesn’t do marketing for therapists, there’s a lot therapists can learn from her.

In particular, I love the metaphor of fuel and engine she uses to describe marketing. You can read more about it in her newsletter.

Fuel is the messaging, content, and design.

Engine is the channels, tools, and analytics.

If you have an engine but no fuel, your marketing machine isn’t going to work.

But if you have fuel and no engine, it’s not going to work either.

The key is to have a mix of both.
