In its most simple form, marketing is a value exchange.

The more use value you give to your audience, the more likely they are to give you cash value in return.

You can provide value by:

  • Posting on social media

  • Writing a blog post

  • Doing a podcast interview

  • Hosting a podcast

  • Speaking on a panel

  • Giving a public talk

  • Offering a webinar

  • Moderating an online community

  • Writing a newsletter

If you think about marketing as a value exchange, then it’s not about sales or self-promotion. Instead, it’s about showing up and helping people, which builds trust.
